It's Already Alright (Part 2)

Last time we spoke about how to respond to the circumstances we face in life. And, we concluded that through the proper posture in prayer we could be led by God to deal with our circumstances in the right way. But the question we faced was, “What is the right posture for effective prayer?”. Prayers prayed in faith and trust. Faith being Knowing who God is which leads us to know who we are in Him which then leads us to know what He will do for and through us thus establishing trust.

But what is a right image or conception of God? We’ll talk a bit about that today. To start, our words are not enough to fully describe who God is including his character and ways. Yet, we know God is the Creator and therefore our Father. Even in these words we see the connection of faith and trust. We know by faith that God is the Creator therefore we trust that He is a good Father to each of us. But Isaiah 9:6-7 foretells the coming of Christ in such a way that we learn not only of His character but also His sovereignty. It is from these verses we will see that, even today, everything, is already alright.

Verse 6 says, “Unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Verse 7 says, “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

In verse 6, Isaiah prophetically lays out many of the adjectives that would be used to describe Christ Jesus. They point to His power, authority, grace, beauty, wisdom, awesomeness, comfort and limitless endurance. He is a God of love that shows that love for us through all these characteristics and yet, He is holy with no unrighteousness in Him. There is no lack, no void, no emptiness, no darkness at all. He, alone, is pure perfection. And it is through the power of His perfect love that comes out of His perfect holiness He accepts us as we are right now. He accepts us as we are right now so that through the process of time we can choose through our actions to become more like Him.

As this verse also says, When He came He brought His government, that is, His Kingdom with Him. So, we don’t have to wait to go to heaven to live in His Kingdom. We can be a part of it right now in the flesh as we let the Kingdom of God come and His will be done in our lives. We are in this world but not of this world’s system. Those that have faith and trust in Christ became a part of the Kingdom He brought to the earth when He showed up over 2000 years ago. Therefore, we must learn how His Kingdom operates, (its rules, rights and responsibilities), in order to capture the full benefits of citizenship. When you know how the Kingdom operates, you will then know how and what to pray. When you pray from the right posture you will see results including the changing of your circumstances so they align with the will of God as you have prayed.

But here is the final point I want to make based on verse 7. It highlights why God requires us to walk by faith and not sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Our sight tells us that the world is in great upheaval and, in fact, there are terrible things going on around us. But what do you conclude from what you see? It may appear that God is withdrawing, the Word is being lost and the Kingdom of Christ is fading away. You will even see statistics that say fewer people believe in Christ and other religions are rising. But the Word of God is always true (Romans 3:4). In verse 7 it says with emphasis that of the INCREASE of HIS government and peace there will be NO end. And later in the verse, His government has been established over everyone in His Kingdom with judgment and justice from the time He brought it until forever. I don’t think we’ve reached forever yet, so this Word of truth continues to stand. Christ’s Kingdom is INCREASING and His PEACE is increasing as more people embrace Him in faith and trust. So, keep praying. Move in the authority you have as a Kingdom citizen and bring judgment and justice to your circumstances. Next we will talk more about your Kingdom rights so you can pray with the authority that requires justice to manifest.
